Airmont Adopts Comprehensive Plan

November 01, 2011

The Village of Airmont in Rockland County, New York adopted an update to their Comprehensive Plan at the October 3rd meeting of their Village Board.   This Plan, the second since the Village's inception, was prepared by a Comprehensive Planning Committee with technical assistance from Turner Miller Group, the Village's Planners and Brooker Engineering. The Plan places strong emphasis on preservation of natural resources including wetlands, streams, ground water and the natrual scenic landscape and character of the Village.  The Plan also provides recommendations for architectural design guidelines, green practices for ground water recharge, cluster subdivisions, enhanced landscaping and buffer requirements  and improved pedestrian safety.  A copy of the plan can be reviewed on the Village's website (www.airmont.org) or in the Village Clerk's office.
