Watchtower EIS Preparation

Visual Simulation of Project
Services Required:
For the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of NY, Inc., Turner Miller Group recently project managed and prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) in satisfaction of State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) for the proposed reuse of a former laboratory site in the Town of Warwick for the World Headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
The DEIS assessed potential impacts of the development on the surrounding environment which includes Sterling Forest State Park and Ringwood State Park just over the project site boundaries in New Jersey.   The DEIS gave detailed consideration to visual, ecological, traffic, and community service impacts.
The World Headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses, which is currently located in Brooklyn, NY will house between 850 and 1,000 resident volunteer members of a religious order who will work at the site in administrative, office and support roles.
Turner Miller Group relied on aspects of the Watchtower’s other area facilities and interviews with local service providers in order to anticipate impacts for this unique use.
